Position Overview:

We are currently in search for a Microsoft SQL Server DBA to join our Infrastructure team. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing and supporting high-availability SQL Server systems.

Requirements & Experience:

  • BS in a technical field or a combination of education and professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience on SQL Server 2000/2005/2008.
  • Strong experience with disaster recovery and business continuity concepts and practices.
  • Solid Proficiency in Transact-SQL including complex queries, stored procedures, functions, etc...
  • Proficiency in SQL tuning, understanding optimization (index types, search arguments, covered indexes, etc.).
  • Expert in SQL replication services.
  • Strong Experience with high volume OLTP databases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with .net environments a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and experience.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Build databases following industry best practices and internal security policies and standards.
  • Enhance the current environment by creating scripts and tools to simplify and automate tasks.
  • Configure monitoring and maintenance plans on all the database systems to ensure their proper operation, performance and availability.
  • Design and configure, and monitor replication between remote sites.
  • Design and document a DR strategy.
  • Ensure availability and integrity of Databases and services with techniques such as performance tuning and system monitoring
  • Work with Software development to ensure proper capacity planning and performance monitoring of the databases
